ADMISSIONS OVERVIEW

We are delighted that you are considering Grace Academy.Summer 2023: We are accepting applications for grades with open seats and for the wait pool when a grade is are full. At present, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades are full.

Applications for 2024-2025 will open on October 31, 2023. We strongly encourage application submission by February 1, 2024.

Please note: A student’s prior academic achievements will be considered in the application process, but only for grade placement, not as the primary determinant for acceptance. We are seeking to enroll students who, because of their family’s educational, behavioral, and spiritual priorities, will most benefit from Grace Academy.

Overview of the Admissions Process

Timeline

October 31 - February 1: Open for New Family Applications. The date of application will be recorded but does not solely determine acceptance. After the February 1 new family application deadline, we will continue to accept applications and use a wait pool if the grade level is full.
January 3 – January 31: Current Families Re-enroll. New students from current families require a separate application.
February 1 and after: Families Considered for Admission. After an applicant completes the admission process ( application forms, supporting documents, completed testing, and interview) he/she will be considered for admission. Notification of acceptance, denial , or wait pool will be e-mailed to each applicant. If an applicant is placed in the wait pool, he or she will be notified as space becomes available.

* For Kindergarten, our admission guideline is that students be 5 years old by June 1.

Apply

Submit an online application for admission with the $150 application fee (non-refundable). As part of the application, parents are required to submit an affirmation of faith and Christian testimony and also affirm their agreement with Grace Academy’s mission statement and Statement of Faith. Supporting documents for the application include a copy of the student’s birth certificate, a pastoral reference form, teacher and principal questionnaires, and a school records release when applicable. Applicants to grades 6-12 also complete a student questionnaire.

Applicants who complete the admission process will typically result in a decision of accept, wait pool, or decline.

Test

Grades K-5: Once the application and supporting documents are complete students applying to grades K-5 participate in on-campus evaluations.
Grades 6-12: Students applying to grades 6-12 take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) facilitated by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB). Cost is approximately $150. We have a limited number of ISEE fee waivers for admission applicants who have also applied for need-based financial assistance through FACTS. Interview

The final step of the admission process is an interview.

Parent Interview: This is a vital part of the admissions process for both mother and father. The interview provides an opportunity for extended personal conversation as well as a time for questions. Prior to the interview both parents are required to read Dr. Christopher Perrin’s An Introduction to Classical Education: A Guide for Parents.

Student Interview: Upper school students applying to grades 6-12 will also participate in a student interview during the admission process.
