ADMISSIONS OVERVIEW

Attending a School Preview will give you valuable insight into our admissions process, allow you to experience the love of Christ on our campus, meet and visit with faculty and staff, and give you a glimpse into classrooms. 

We are sorry you missed our Fall and Winter Previews. Please reach out to our Admissions Office at 512-864-9500 to learn more about Grace Academy and the admissions process. We would love to visit with you and answer any questions you may have.

Applications received between November and February 1 are considered at the same time by the Admission Committee.

Round One is the season in which we have the most space available for new students. Please see Apply for more information. 

Nota bene: Families have the best chance at receiving tuition assistance if they apply in Round One. A separate application for tuition assistance must also be submitted by February 1.

Applications submitted after February 1 will be processed on a rolling basis.

Depending on a number of variables, including how quickly school records and referrals are returned to Grace Academy, the admission process can take three weeks or longer.

As part of the admission process, each applicant participates in assessment activities appropriate for their grade level.

Parent Interview: This is a vital part of the admissions process for both mother and father. The interview provides an opportunity for extended personal conversation as well as a time for questions. Prior to the interview both parents are required to read Dr. Christopher Perrin’s An Introduction to Classical Education: A Guide for Parents.

Student Interview: Upper school students applying to grades 6 and up will also participate in a student interview, usually scheduled during the Student Shadow Day.

1. Is there a fee to apply?

Each application has a non-refundable $150 application fee. See tuition and fees. 

2. What do I need to include with my application?

Please refer to the “Apply” page or create an application account and refer to page 1 of the application.

3. When should I submit my application?

Please see all deadlines and notification dates in the Admission Overview. 

• Round One Priority Application Deadline - February 1st
• Notification no later than March 6
• Round Two: Applications Submitted after February 1 will be processed on a rolling basis as files become complete. Notifications are also rolling.  

4. How old does my child have to be to start Kindergarten?

Applicants must turn 5 before September 1. Each applicant is assessed for developmental readiness as part of the admission process. Read more here. 

5. Does Grace Academy accept transfer students?

Yes! We have students who have attended other schools who are thriving at Grace. Please reach out to the Admission Team at 512-864-9500 or send an email to admissions@gracetx.org or complete an inquiry form to explore transferring.

6. Can my child shadow at Grace Academy?

Yes! Applicants to first grade and above shadow with their current grade to experience Grace firsthand.

7. What is the school code for the ISEE?

For applicants to grades 6 and above, the code to send Grace Academy ISEE scores is 447600. 

8. Are there scholarships available?

Yes, and we refer to it as tuition assistance. Through an application submitted at the same time as the admission application, Grace Academy offers need-based, partial tuition grants to qualifying families whose student(s) has been admitted. Learn more here.
